Under the initiative of the Bouches du Rhône Departmental Council and supported by Provence Tourisme, Marseille Provence Year of Gastronomy 2019 – MPG2019, is part of the political will of the Departmental Council to develop and enhance the sector of gastronomy, fundamental because of its links with agricultural sector, culture, public health and a certain "art de vivre", factor of attractiveness and tourist frequentation of the territory.
This desire is also materialized by the stated ambition to associate both the general public and to promote the territory ata national and international level.
