In 2019, Marseille celebrates Gastronomy!

After culture in 2013 and 2018 and sport in 2017, the Bouches-du-Rhône (13) department will celebrate gastronomy through the event "Marseille - Provence 2019, year of gastronomy in Provence".

This event will be sponsored by the three-star chef in the Michelin guide. Gérald Passédat from the hotel Le Petit Nice in Marseille.

"Because gastronomy is an essential part of the identity of Provence, we want to promote this major asset to accelerate tourism development and increase the flow of visitors, but also to enhance the entire agricultural sector"

Under the initiative of the Bouches du Rhône Departmental Council and supported by Provence Tourisme, Marseille Provence Year of Gastronomy 2019 – MPG2019, is part of the political will of the Departmental Council to develop and enhance the sector of gastronomy, fundamental because of its links with agricultural sector, culture, public health and a certain "art de vivre", factor of attractiveness and tourist frequentation of the territory.

This desire is also materialized by the stated ambition to associate both the general public and to promote the territory ata national and international level.
