Located in the pretty village of Gréoux-les-Bains, in the heart of the Verdon, the new cinema Ecocine Verdon has opened its doors.

The concept is simple : it's a life-size cinema, which aims to benefit tourists and locals a cinematic cultural activities, while highlighting the natural territory of the Verdon Regional Park.

The president of Ecocine Verdon, Jean- Marc Paris, embarked on this project in 1995 after visiting the Grand Canyon of Colorado, where he discovered a cinema broadcasting a film on giant screen. His idea was to reproduce the same in France, around a place witch attrats about 1.5 million visitors each year, and 3.5 million hikers. According to Jean-Marc Paris, living and active climber in the heart of the Verdon Park : "This is not the largest canyon in the world, but certainly one of the most beautiful." With 180 000 hectares and covering not less than 45 municipalities, the Verdon Regional Natural Park is famous for its landscapes of unparalleled beauty, its lookouts offering stunning views of the gorges and numerous discovery activities to practice.

In partnership with Secret Verdon and the Verdon Regional Park, our incoming agency aims to promote and develop activities around the theme of the film. Founded by Sebastien Batel, a former guide in the gorges, Active Road is historically located in this area and shows its involvement in this project, which is fast becoming a major tourist stake. Surrounded by a network of local partners, to be able to offer quality services, we want to offer activities and stays with the Verdon values.

In line with Jean-Pierre Martineti, CEO of culture and sustainable tourism, our goal is clear : We must lead and organize a network of local actors, transform trippers (day) in tourists (stays) and be part of a sustainable approach (Regional park) with the experience of the local heritage.

As our agency has been able to do in the National park of the creeks, this project is in the duration and may allow, in short term, to extend the seasonality and participate in the development of local tourism and solidarity economy.

The story is precisely that of Hidalgo, a passionate cabinetmaker who wanted to relive the adventure of MARTEL 100 years later, starting to explore the canyon with the same type of craft. Broadcast every day since March 27, 2016 on a giant screen and with Imax quality, Verdon Secret offers viewers a different perspective on the Verdon. Popular with foreign tourists, this grandiose indeed has a heritage and story finally little known of the French public. This is highlighted in the movie by offering beautiful images of the canyon, its landscapes and its wilderness trails, filmed in 4k with drones for maximum quality.
